Ty Schurr 
Since beginning racing at the age of 10, Ty has surrounded himself with all the resources available to be successful. He first began racing for the thrill of driving, but more recently found his calling on the mechanical side of the fence. Tyler has earned recognition as a well-known engine builder in the Midwest. He is fascinated by the internal combustion engine. He has spent countless hours doing research and development with 4-cycle engines.  With eight years of kart racing experience, Ty has shown his determination and will to do what it takes to be successful. Ty has shown a lot of commitment and drive that will someday pay its dividends. He has had numerous heat race and feature wins himself along with hundreds of wins and championships accredited from his customers. Tyler graduated from Sherrard High School in 2005. Tyler now attends Augustana College in Rock Island, IL. His major of study is pre-engineering. Ty is also a member of Augustana's NCAA wrestling team. When he is not at the race track or in the shop, Ty enjoys football, wrestling, riding four-wheelers and spending time with his girlfriend Chelsea. 

In addition to his duties at Schurr Power Racing Engines, Ty is the 4-cycle engine-builder for Triple E Sales & Service of Orion, Illinois.

Andy ‘Doc’ Dochterman
While his name is fairly new to the racing scene, Andy’s racing roots run deep.  In high school, Andy, nick named “Doc,” followed in his father’s footsteps by drag raced his 1968 Plymouth Road Runner.  While obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Illinois, Andy became project leader of the UIUC SAE Mini-Baja student Project.  In his two years on the team, He guided the team from a school best 54th place in the nation to a 6th place in 1999. In 1998, Andy became a co-crew chief/transport driver for Biskup Racing, which competed in the SCCA World Challenge GT series.  He also crewed on the Racer’s Group/Team Seattle Porsche team in the 2001 Rolex 24 at Daytona. 

In addition to his Crew Chief Duties, Andy is the President and head engine-builder for Schurr Power Inc. of Orion, Illinois. Andy's superb knowledge of mechanical engineering and the internal combustion engine is a great asset to the company. Andy is the "brains" behind Schurr Power Inc.
